2Corinthians 3:6-11

1. (Verse 7-8) ministry that is wriiten (law-death) vs. ministry of the Spirit (life)

Detective is someone who decides by law of the world. In the same way, God gave us a law to live by obeying it.

Why is there ministry of the Law (flesh) and the ministry of the Spirit?

First, the Lawyer is Jesus Christ who testifies whether we are guilty or not. This Lawyer is also equivalent to Holy Spirit. (Romans 7:9-10) In order to erase the Law, Jesus died so that we can receive life--ONLY in Jesus since the law has been eradicated through Him. This is becuase the law doesn't clean away our original sin. No matter how much we follow the law to be good, if our original sin isn't cleansed in Jesus, we won't receive life.

First step in command is to die (kill the flesh- thoughts, opinions, desires, etc- in order to be resurrected into Life. (John 6:63) Flesh counts for nothing because the flesh doesn't do any part in saving your soul. What ultimately saves us is the Holy Spirit, not your flesh's acceptance/acknoeledgement/realization. Then, throw away the knowledge of the bible you have stored in your head, instead of storing them in your heart. It's impossible to follow and believe in Jesus when you still hold onto the law of the world/ flesh.

The question is, which ministry are you working for? (Galatians 5:18) If you are led by the Holy Spirit, you will not be sent to the "detective" even though you have sinned because your Lawyer (Holy Spirit a.k.a Jesus Christ) will clear you.

2. (verse 9) Ministry that condems men vs Ministry of Righteusness

We can add one more minstry in here: the Judge. (Romans 2:13) The detective might say otherwise but the Judge is the final decision maker whether you are guilty or not. (in the same way, the world might say otherwise and persecute you but God is the one who will charge you as guilty or not)

(Romans 3:20) law can be rightwous but no one can keep the law because we were born with sin- Adam's sin. Even though we have not acted wrongly, our thougts have acted to sin. (just as the bible clearly says even the thought of hating is commiting murder and thoughts of sexual immorality is already commiting one)

Remember that our bride/husband is Jesus Christ, Holding onto things that has no relation to Christ IS adultery. There is no way you can be righteous, especially when the old law has passed and is gone/void/invalid/expired. (Romans 3:28) One way we can be righteous: have Faith apart from the law. This faith is to follow Jesus, nothing else! This faith also has hope for the Kingdom of Heaven, not the worldly gain.

The law was made for non-believers to first follow the law to make the tiny step into life- into church. One who truly received the Holy Spirit doesn't need the law because the Holy Spirit will lead to love, forgive, serve Jesus. (Romans 6:6-7) Faith must come from Jesus and Jesus alone to come to the law of righteousness. Without the Holy Spirit living inside, our faith is very fickle and easily swayed and confused. One who dies (not literally) is free from sin and into righteousness he goes. Sin doesn't cause us to die. The reason we need to die is because we are in state of spiritual death. Kill the flesh/thought/worldy views to come into Life. (Galataians 5:4) Alienation from Christ: one who finds righteouness through the law.

3. Which ministry is good then??

(verse 7) Believing in Christ is not enough to save you. Period. (verse 10) even the law written on the stone had glory but this is long gone because Jesus Christ came to get rid of that old law. (Ephesians 2:15) Your enemy is the world. You have to come into Jesus to have salvation, eternal life and peace. Don't flip the priority. First, you must have Life. (Galatians 3:24-25, 4:9-11) Many false apostles are going back to the old law (stone tablet commands, literal sacrifices, etc) because the Holy Spirit is not in them. This is also because they have no confirmation in having salvation. Adding to that, they want to feel reassured and comfortable that they can go into heaven without following the new law.

Conclusion: If the Light of Jesus, Holy Spirit is not shown through, nothing has meaning. (John 16:7-11, 12-15) Receiving Holy Spirit is not the end. Even if you don't know the entire W.O.G, Holy Spirit teaches you if you receive it. He will let the words be known to you. Jesus is our glory but that glory originally came from Father God. God will give us grace through Jesus, who will deliver the grace to us through the Holy Spirit.
